Dubai is the most populous city and emirate in the United Arab Emirates UAE. Dubai is located on the north-eastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula. Many historians believe that the word Dubai come from the word ‘Daba’ which means “to creep”. It is bordered by Abu Dhabi on the south and Sharjah on the north-east. It is also known as Sultanat of Oman on the south-east. Emirati are famous for their hospitality and generous in their approach to visitors. Dubai is the second largest city in the UAE after Abu Dhabi, and it covers the area of 1,588.4 square miles. Dubai has the population of 22,62,000. The majority of the population of Dubai has an Asian origin.

Dubai has beautiful Beaches, marvelous buildings, luxuries hotel and big shopping mall and mysterious deserts. Several native plants and species introduced to their natural habitat. The most famous building in Dubai is Burj- Khalifa. Before its inauguration it is known as Burj-Dubai, it is the world’s tallest structure made by man standing at 829.8m. Other famous building Burj Al Arab, Princess Tower, Cayan Tower , Dubai Museum , The Dubai Mall, Jumeirah Beach Hotel.

The local currency in UAE is Dirham, which is 27.72 rupee in Pakistan. It has sunny and warm climate which is perfect for tourists with the mild temperature and a low rainfall over the year. English language is most spoken there. All hostel menus and roads sign are in English. Islam is the way of life in the city therefore tourist should develop sense of their culture for the duration of their stay. There are also attractive Mosques in Dubai. The crime rate in Dubai is so low. Therefore this city is considered as safest city on Earth. The law is so strict in Dubai. Despite being governed by the Islamic law, Alcohol is present in restaurants.

• The world‘s largest Island is Palm Jumeirah in Dubai. And it is visible from the space.
• The most luxuries hotel in Dubai is Burj AL Arab. It is also known as 7-Star hotel.
• The Dubai Metro system is the longest automated rail network in the world. Its 87 trains run without any drivers.
• The National Day of Dubai is 2 December. In 1971, on this day Dubai gained independence from the United Kingdom.
