Telmo Zarra, the great football Player in Spainish History.

Telmo Zara was born on January 20, 1921 at the Asia Train Station in Erandio Spain. His father was an engineer at the Head of Asia Station. Zara Used to play football with his neighbor, in his young age.  Zara’s older brother already played in the Primer Division. His father never stopped him to play football.  Latter on Zara Signed his first professional contract with the S.D Radio of the Second Division, and was selected in the 1937-1938 season.

Telmo Zara was a Spanish Basque Football Player for Athletic Bilbao from 1940 -1955. His full name was Telco Zarraonaandia Montoya but, commonly known as”Zarra” Singing with Athletic  after playing one season for  Radio, Zara become a popular goals corer for Athletic on his Season 15 at the club, winning: The Pichincha Trophy (Which is Awarded to the top goal scorer of the season in the Spanish league) Six times. He was the highest scorer of the league in goals (252) than any other player in the Spanish football history, and made additional 81 cup goals. He also shares the record for the most goals scored in a season, 38 times in 1950 to 1951.

Despite his popularity and excellent record, Zara only played for Spain twenty times, Even so, Zara managed to score goals, including four in one  historic match when Spain beat Switzerland  on 18 February 1951. He was also the Country’s winning goal scorer against England in 1`950 World Cup finals as Spain reached the final four_ their burst performance in the competition by winning the 2010 FIFA World Cup 60 years later. He Missed Much of  the 1951 to 1951 season, when he caught in Serious leg injury but rebounded  himself and proved his fitness with 24 goals  to finish as; ending Scorer for the sixth  and final time. Despite his Individual success, Athletic struggled in mid- table for much of the early 1950s. His major includes a final defeat to Barcelona in 1953, with the best league position of second in the season of his injury. From 1953 to onwards, Zara appearance began to become remarkable as a younger player began to take his place.  Zara professional career ended with Athletic in 1955, when he dismissed from the team for the cup final against Seville. He still holds the time record with 251 flight goals for the Primer Division and his six seasons as leading scorer remains unmatched. There  is also  the e top Scorer in the history of the  Cope De  Rey With 81 goals.

Zarra  also played  for a couple of years in Segundo Division With Indexed  Baracaldo. Zara finally retired in 1957 at the age of 36. Latter on Zara continued his games for a Biscay Veteran, Team, to raise the money for the charity purpose, but he remained low profile in his later years. Zara awarded with Sports Merit Medal, Shiny Gold Badge of Malaga CF and Silver Badge of Depictive De La Coruna. He made his record score in the history of La Lira (253 goals), top scorer in the history of the Cope de Rey (81 foals), top scorer for Athletic Club (333 goals), Most Pichincha Trophies (6) and Most goals in a Cope Del Rey Final (4). Zara died on February 23, 2006, at the age of 85. In his honors, an award called “Zara Trophy” Is given to the Spanish Player with t most goals in the Primer Division in each season.
